Communications and Channel Strategist

Episode Four is looking for a Communications and Channel Strategist to work on a global financial account for a Fortune 500 client. You will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing marketing strategies, primarily for this client but possibly for others within the agency. This role involves a deep understanding of the overall media landscape and trends, with a particular focus on digital and experiential, as well as consumer behaviors across a variety of different audience segments. This role reports into the Account Strategy Lead and will partner with teammates in account, creative, production, and project management.

Experience & Skills

  • 3-5 years of industry experience, preferably at a creative, media or marketing agency

  • Experience developing strategies and comms plans across and between a brand’s paid, earned, and owned channels (including digital, traditional, and experiential channels

  • The ability to balance creative, strategic, and analytical thinking

  • Familiarity with digital performance data and analysis

  • Proactive, motivated, self-starter

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

  • Collaborative and a team player

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with strategic lead to ensure that brand strategies are implemented across all paid, earned, and owned channels, reflect the audience’s wants and needs, and are set up to achieve the best business results

  • Develop overarching go-to-market strategy for client/business, plus initiative-specific channel strategies across different audience segments; e.g., how does the brand and its initiatives appear in the world

  • Create a variety of comms and channel plans including: distribution strategies, roles of channel, messaging frameworks, event amplification strategies, and so on

  • Work with the media agency to influence channel placement and creative rotation

  • Draft and give client presentations and workshops, gain internal alignment with agency and account leads, present strategies in a clear and concise manner to build influence with key client stakeholders

  • Analyze data and provide opportunities and recommendations

  • Stay up to date with trends across the client’s industry and the media landscape

The role is primarily remote with some client travel, as well as the entire agency meeting quarterly in a different city. Remote work includes a lot of virtual time together via video conference and other collaboration tools.
